A few practical things

Choosing a counsellor or a clinical supervisor is a personal decision. Alongside finding someone who feels like the right fit, the practicalities matter too.

  • Where will we meet?

  • How much does it cost?

  • Is the space accessible?

  • Can we work online?

Whether you're considering counselling or clinical supervision, the information below answers many of the practical questions people often have before getting in touch.

Pricing

  • Counselling – £60 (up to 60 minutes)

  • Therapeutic Coaching – £80 (up to 60 minutes)

  • Clinical Supervision – £90 (90 minutes)

This fee applies to individual practitioners in private practice. If you're seeking clinical supervision for your organisation or team, please visit my Organisational Clinical Supervision page.

Where we'll meet

If we meet in person, this will be at my Training for Counsellors offices in Blackburn, Lancashire.

There are two counselling rooms, each offering a different environment. One room, pictured top left, is designed for talking therapy.

The other is a larger space that offers more flexibility in how we work together. Alongside talking therapy, it includes resources such as sand tray therapy, LEGO®, games, creative materials and other therapeutic resources, allowing us to use whatever best supports your thinking and reflection.

There is plenty of free parking on site.

If someone accompanies you to your appointment, there is a comfortable seating area where they are welcome to wait until your session has finished.

Please note that both counselling rooms are located upstairs and, unfortunately, there is no lift access. If this would make attending difficult, we can discuss alternative ways of working together.

If you would prefer, we can also meet online or by telephone.

When we first speak, we'll discuss your preferences and decide together which option is likely to work best for you.

If there's anything that would make attending or working together more accessible for you, please let me know. Wherever possible, I'm happy to make reasonable adjustments.

When you arrive

The counselling rooms are based within a shared building. Although there are a small number of other businesses here, we have a dedicated space designed to support privacy and confidentiality.

When you arrive, you'll enter through the shared entrance. You're welcome to take a seat on the large red chairs while I come downstairs to greet you.

If you would like to let me know you've arrived, you're welcome to send me a WhatsApp message.

Booking an initial call with me

You can contact me by email here or via WhatsApp here.

If I'm with a client, I may not be able to answer straight away, but I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

What happens then?

I tend to return first contact in the way that I receive it - i.e. if you send me a WhatsApp, I'll respond by WhatsApp; if you send me an email, I'll respond by email.

Either way, we'll arrange a date and time to talk about what it is that you're looking for and whether I might the a person who can help you with that.

Where can I find our Working Agreement?

Our foundational Counselling / Therapeutic Counselling can be found here.

If you are a practitioner in agreement with me for Clinical Supervision, you can follow this link.

Payments

Payment details will be provided when we arrange your appointment. Bank transfer is usual, and is requested on the day of your session.

What if you need to cancel your session?

Life happens. Please let me know as soon as you are able and we can rearrange.
